On August 6 in Tampa, there will be the 2022 Tampa Pro. Due to the fact that it is a highlight of the IFBB Pro League program, the competition was already eagerly awaited. After Kamal Elgargni, the 2019 Olympia 212 champion, stated he would be making his men's open debut by participating in Tampa, the expectation turned into pure excitement. Elgargni claims that he can still observe improvement in his physical growth at the age of 51. Therefore, the moment has come to try out open seas.
"I feel terrific, and I can see my body is getting better. Therefore, I see this as an opportunity to demonstrate to the bodybuilding community that, if you play your cards right, age is nothing more than a number. "If you become obsessed with anything, you will do it quickly. If you're intelligent, you can continue indefinitely.
Elgargni can play it smart by refraining from acting erratically just because the show is open. Although there is no weight requirement for this competition, the scale isn't currently a big deal for him.
I'm not trying to compete on size. I'll just be concerned with my appearance on the day of the performance," he declared. "All I'm trying to do is deliver the greatest package I can." For the man from Libya, the decision on the venue of the competition to make this debut was rather straightforward.
I relocated to Tampa. I identify as a Tampa boy. Why not?
The Texas Pro in 2022, which will be held one week after Tamps, will also feature Kamal Elgargni as a competitor. If he triumphs in either one or both of those competitions, he will be eligible to compete as an open participant in the 2022 Mr. Olympia competition. He is already Olympia eligible for life in that division as a result of his Olympia 212 victory from three years ago. With a win, he would join an exclusive group of competitors who have qualified for both the 212 and open. Shaun Clarida and Angel Calderon make up the other two. Elgargni will be travelling to Nevada in December with one mission in mind, despite the fact that qualifying for the open would be wonderful.
It was in Vegas when I won the Olympia 212. After that, it spent two years in Orlando. It is now returning to Vegas. I'm returning to Vegas, and I want to win back my title," he declared vehemently. He would be the first person to win back the title after dropping it onstage in Olympia 212 history. If he triumphs in Tampa, he will become the second Olympia champion to triumph in the Tampa Pro Open competition after Dexter Jackson. Although he already has a reputation in the sport, his traditional outlook on life keeps him motivated to go even better.
"I am quite clear about what I'm looking for in business and in sports. To achieve the outcomes I desire, I know exactly what I have to do and how I have to execute it, he said. In order to know what he needs to do, he consults with his coach Chris Aceto, who shares his old-school philosophy and has a wealth of experience assisting bodybuilding icons in their preparation for major competitions.
He has been in the industry for a lot longer than I have, therefore he has a lot more experience than I have.
The BPI athlete recognizes the prestige that comes with even considering competing in the IFBB Pro League, which is why he is thankful for all the benefits in his life. He was completely prohibited from competing under the previous regime. When the companies split in 2017, Jim Manion gave Elgargni the chance he desired and merited right away.
Despite winning, he said, "the other people wouldn't grant me a pro card for almost four years." Mr. Manion had always been there for me and had faith in me. Following the split, he informed me that I was now an IFBB Pro athlete.
Despite his enormous accomplishment in bodybuilding on a global scale and as a former Olympia champion, his popularity may never have been this high. A portion of that can be due to his most recent training sessions with Nick Walker, the 2021 Arnold Classic Champion. Some of their exercises have been documented and shared on YouTube, where they have received positive feedback. Although Walker and Kamal Elgargni said to have trained differently before joining forces, the young New Jersey phenom is treading in the legend's footsteps.
He enjoyed the high-volume, traditional workout I had him do during one of my sessions, he recalled. "Some of the people I trained with refused and left. He is smart, he accepts the training, and he didn't give up.”
At the Olympia in Las Vegas, both guys picture themselves triumphantly standing. Walker has the potential to be an all-time great, according to Kamal Elgargni.
Since he relocated to Tampa, we have trained together and I have observed his personality. I adore that child," he gushed. He is modest, passionate, and clear-eyed about what he wants to do. He makes me think a lot about when I first started bodybuilding. Five Mr. Olympia titles and five Arnold Classic titles are his goals. His objectives are already established.
Over the years, many admirers have come to respect Elgargni's work and strive to mimic it in their own lives. He suggested that it's crucial to be surrounded by the proper people. For this reason, he surrounds himself with members of his family as well as his inner circle, including Walker, Aceto, the BPI staff, and others.
"Positive people are essential. Other sports are not like the one we play. It demands a lot, and we must give a lot”, he said. "Don't listen to others who question you if you believe in yourself, have the necessary skills, and are willing to work hard to become a world champion. Don't rush things; surround yourself with the appropriate trainers and coaches. If you have what I mentioned, you'll succeed in your endeavors.”
